To Protect Burlingtonšs Niagara Escarpment Rural Land for Future Generations

PERL Objectives

• To prevent the opening of a new North Burlington quarry on the Niagara Escarpment land.

• To ensure that the spirit of the Niagara Escarpment's UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve designation is upheld.

• To protect and enhance our local Niagara Escarpment rural lands in North Burlington by:

  • preserving vital ecosystems and natural habitats;

  • protecting endangered and threatened animal and plant species;

  • safeguarding rural water tables, wells, creeks and wetlands.

• To preserve and enhance quality of life of the Niagara Escarpment area.
