One might wonder how someone with a Bachelor's Degree in History (U of T, '94) and a Journalism Certificate would end up peddling his services in the world wide web world -- and, despite my propensity to talk at length, I will concede that the story is both long and convoluted. How I found myself here is less important I would theorize than what I have done since arriving here.

My first paying job came in the form of a website for Alert Music in 1996 for their forthcoming compilation CD -- PopCan. Soon, I had a couple of band websites under my belt and things were starting to get interesting.

By 1998, I had taken a job at First Media Group Inc. and was fortunate enough to work in their fledgling web department, which was actually little more then myself, a database programmer and a systems type.

I was feeling fairly propetic when I wrote about the emergence of Linux a few years back for eye Weekly.

Primarily in charge of providing front end interfaces for their various web projects, it was here that I first delved into database programming of any kind. It was a Cold Fusion shop and we created a would-be franchise of personal-ad sites based on Quest Personals.

Freelance work was plentiful -- Sarah Harmer, Lowest Of The Low the Johnny Favourite site (for Alert) -- and eventually there was a position with Nortel Network's eContent Management Solutions team.

Since arriving in 2000, html, javascript and Flash have been bolstered by the use of PHP, MySQL, DHTML, ASP and more recently, XML.

New projects also abound with Brush With The Law proving to be a fun and unique experience. Please, look around and enjoy.
